Wendy Nuttall

Wendy Nuttall - Founder and Director

Research Red Ltd was launched by Wendy in 2010.  Wendy has more than 25 years experience working in major international companies including the FCO, Amersham Health, GE Healthcare, Philips AVENT and Pfizer Consumer Health. She has held roles in global strategic and regional marketing in business development, marketing and business analysis. 

Wendy is passionate about new product development, concept testing and positioning work and has conducted market research across the product lifecycle. She has facilitated a number of advisory boards with key opinion leaders in oncology and cardiology. She has also facilitated insight/creative workshops which are a key ingredient of product development and product/service evaluation. Her war game experience offers an excellent opportunity to evaluate the competitive environment and make strategic plans to counter threats.

While working at GE Healthcare, Wendy co-authored two papers on coronary artery disease published in “Circulation” and the “Journal of American College of Cardiology”. She has worked with some great brands in senior marketing roles providing ad hoc research for some of the UK's biggest and most successful healthcare and consumer companies. 

Wendy is a member of the Market Research Society (MRS), the British Healthcare Business Intelligence Association (BHBIA) and the Association of Qualitative Research (AQR) and provides training to Medilink. 

Dr Alan Davies - Medical Director

Alan graduated MB BS in medicine in 1976 at The Royal London Hospital, UK. He obtained MRCP (UK) in 1979 and MD (Lond) in 1985 for his original research on diabetic microvascular disease. He is an independent consultant working with Research Red.  He has worked as a University Lecturer in the Medical Schools of Adelaide, Australia; Manchester and Bristol, United Kingdom before joining Novo as a Clinical Research Director in 1985.  Subsequently he was Head of Clinical Research for Fujisawa, based in Munich; General Manager Fujisawa UK and European Medical Director at Kendle, a global Clinical Research Organisation for over 10 years. He was Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer for GE Healthcare from 2006 until 2014.

He has over 25 years drug and device development experience obtained both as an investigator and as a pharmaceutical physician and has written and lectured widely on drug and device development and effective healthcare delivery. He has over 50 peer reviewed publications and patents in Home Healthcare. He is an external referee to several medical journals, to the Medical Research Council, UK, and external assessor to PhD students Cambridge University, UK and sits on the External Advisory Board, Faculty of Medicine, University of Warwick, UK.

Ian McLellan - Marketing Director

Ian McLellan provides marketing and product launch expertise to support the transition from market research to business launch.

With a background in Applied Physics, Ian has over 20 years business development and product management experience within the healthcare sector, focussing on medical diagnostics, medical devices, IVD testing and over the last 5 years the rapidly developing opportunities within genomic and cellular technologies. He has successfully led business assessment and market entry projects for GE Healthcare, Amersham Healthcare, BP (British Petroleum) and medical start-ups focussing on cardiology and neurology.

Experienced in assessing the differing needs of individual projects, Ian offers a marketing approach that is systematic but tailored to the situation. This insight builds on the market research, ensuring an objective response to market trends, customer needs and company capabilities to generate successful marketing plans and sales implementation.


Krish Ramakrishnan - Business Development Director

Krish Ramakrishnan (also known as PK) is a highly accomplished global marketing professional with over 20 years in commercial leadership roles at GE Healthcare (Nycomed/Amersham Health), BTG plc. and IXICO plc. Krish is currently an independent business development and marketing consultant to the Pharmaceutical / Medical Device industry advising companies on strategic as well as operational marketing issues. 

Most recently Krish was the Vice President, Marketing, commercialising a novel innovative diagnostic tool in digital healthcare space for the early diagnosis of Dementia and other neuro-degenerative diseases. His past roles include Marketing Director at BTG plc. for their Interventional Oncology division and prior to that as Global Marketing Operations Manager  and Marketing Director at GE Healthcare.  

Krish has extensive international pharmaceutical, diagnostics and medical device sales and marketing leadership experience that includes a demonstrated track record of rapidly driving revenue share growth and improving business profitability. Krish has therapeutic area experience spanning Radiology, Interventional Oncology, Urology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Neurology and Psychiatry combined with extensive background in strategic marketing, tactical implementation and launch planning.

Krish brings a rich experience of building and managing commercial/marketing teams in mature as well as emerging markets. At GE Healthcare, he led the global Experienced Commercial Leadership Program (ECLP) which is considered a flagship industry leadership program to develop marketing and sales leaders. 

Krish has lived and worked globally with significant expertise in Europe, Middle East & Africa, Asia and emerging growth markets (CEE, China, India and Latin America). Krish earned his MBA from the University of South Australia and his bachelor's degree from India.

Anna Maxwell - Marketing Director - Consumer Health

Anna is a recognised OTC Marketing, Strategy and Innovation specialist with over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. She has worked for companies such as Boots, Nelsons, Pfizer and Boehringer Ingelheim and has consulted for most of the Top 10 in OTC and many smaller companies.  Having worked in the consumer pharmaceutical arena, on ‘both sides of the fence’, as a pharmacist, retail buyer, brand owner and more recently consultant, she brings a unique set of creative thinking, consumer awareness and commercialisation expertise across the full spectrum of OTC categories. Her expertise covers medicines, vitamins, natural medicine and medical devices and her skills are a dynamic fusion of intuition, practical, hands-on experience and behaviour led cutting-edge marketing. Anna is a published author in self care and speaker, her book Switch Dynamics (Feb 2013) is a practical guide for those in pharmaceutical companies considering the “holy grail” of OTC innovation, Rx to OTC switch, recommended as required reading by the Pharmaceutical Journal. www.switchdynamics.co.uk

Bridget Hales

Bridget Hales - Medical Adviser
BSc Community Health, RGN, DN

Bridget is District Nurse Team Manager for South East Scotland and has 25 years experience in nursing and healthcare in the UK and overseas working both in the NHS and private sector. Bridget has specialist expertise in tissue viability and works as an advisor to GP practices, community hospitals, nursing homes and prisons. Bridget will provide valuable input on medical issues.
